Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade — 30 Oct 2010 (annual) Pearson Park Anaheim marks the spooky season with the Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade down Harbor Boulevard. It starts with a pancake breakfast at Pearson Park; then the art contest winners are announced before a costume contest and the parade itself.

FIM World Championship Supercross: Anaheim — Jan 2011 (annual) Angel Stadium The FIM World Championship Supercross comes to the Angel Stadium in Anaheim California for the first race of the season. The series combines outrageous jumps with flat-out speed, making each and every race a spectacular event.

Lightning in a Bottle Festival — May 2011 (annual) Oak Canyon Ranch The Lightning in a Bottle Festival is an electrifying mix of music, arts and culture with a real bohemian feel. Held annually at the Oak Canyon Ranch, the four-day event features live music, art installations, yoga workshops and plenty more.

Sawdust Festival's Summer Show — Jun - Aug 2011 (annual) Sawdust Eucalyptus Grove The Sawdust Festival's Summer Show is a fine art and creative craft event that takes place in a sawdust-covered eucalyptus grove in Laguna Canyon. Around 200 local artists come together each year to show and sell their work.

More than 75,000 people head to Newport Centre Drive at the picturesque Newport Beach for the annual Taste of Newport festival. The event presents food and drink from 30 restaurants and 15 wineries, along with live music.

Angel Stadium

Angel Stadium is home to the Anaheim Angels Major League Baseball team and stages regular games from April to September. The Angels compete in the tough American League West, which includes the Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners and the Texas Rangers.

The Sawdust Winter Fantasy Festival in Laguna Beach is an exhibition-turned-fairground for all the family. It describes itself as "the best open-air art gallery in the country".

Christmas Boat Parade — 15 - 19 Dec 2010 (annual)

Newport Beach

This large and well-established Christmas Boat Parade sees more than 100 illuminated vessels cruising through the harbour of Newport Beach, south of Los Angeles. Over a million spectators turn out during the course of the event including carollers.

BubbleFest — Mar - Apr 2011 (annual)

Discovery Science Center

Whether it's blowing or popping that you prefer, Bubblefest at the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana offers a range of activities for bubble-lovers. The 16-day extravaganza welcomes international bubble artist Fan Yang, a 16-time Guinness Book world record holder.
